A
Special Evening with Golda Meir
Imagine
if you could go back in time and
spend an evening with Golda Meir,
listening to her incredible story.
Fast
forward 35 years to Wednesday,
March 11 at 5:30 at a private
home in Aspen, and you can - in the
person of
Joan Wolberg,
a professional actress, who
has developed a one-woman show
portraying Golda Meir.
In
character, Joan looks and sounds
like Golda complete with gestures,
facial expressions, and Golda's wit
and wisdom.
Delighting
audiences with her compelling
portrayal, Joan has traveled
throughout the country for the past
decade, weaving a tapestry of drama
and history into an educational,
entertaining and inspirational tale.
One
of the democratic world's first head
of state, Golda came to the United
States during the darkest times for
the young Jewish nation, but left
with a financial foundation that
would help the Israelis best the
Arabs who wished Israel destroyed.
The
legacy that Golda left for all
people was that determination,
pride, and commitment are the
hallmarks of the Jewish tradition
and the Jewish future. One of the
democratic world's first head of
state, Golda came to the United
States during the darkest times for
the young Jewish nation, but left
with a financial foundation that
would help the Israelis best the
Arabs who wished Israel destroyed.
Golda's important words are
so relevant today in the current
crisis;
“We
will have peace when they love their
own children more than they hate
us.”
Joan Wolfberg's performance
background includes professional
regional and dinner theaters,
including The Burt Reynolds Dinner
Theater, The Actors Repertory Co.,
and The Royal Palm Dinner Theater.
She appeared in such films as MAD
LOVE, with Drew Barrymore, as
well as many national and regional
TV commercials.
